Happy Mess:

The peppy tune heard overhead,
The leaves skipping to a lovely beat,
I saw free kids at play with plenty of smiles,
And I thought, "Boy, isn't that neat?"

The tune played vigorously through the day,
The sun shined down from the clear blue sky,
There wasn't a fellow who had a frown,
Their smiles glowing without a try,

The world spun upside down,
Yet the curves stayed the same,
I skipped to the beautiful sound,
Because happiness finally came,

I soared high above with the birds,
Flowing so swiftly, and gently too,
I had finally found my guiding flock,
And how you appeared right on cue,

You flew beside me,
Not just by nature, but by choice,
My life has never been the same,
And for that, I rejoice.

Last Day:

There was this man,
This man was looking for his last day,
He searched high and low,
But he couldn't find it through his dismay,

He lived every day searching,
His life beginning to look bleak,
His last day nowhere to be found,
Even when he searched every single peak,

This man fought long and hard,
Waiting on his long awaited last day,
But one day he saw a glimmer,
A light to show him his longing way,

Today was his last day,
The last day of pain,
The last day of his sorrows,
And the last day of his vain,

His smile etched from side to side,
And his joys became numerous,
He saw to his last day,
Because he was finally joyous,

His last day had finally arrived,
And she had also begun anew,
The last days of the evil had ended,
Because his last day, was you.
