Nearby Stranger:

The beggar boy crying on the corner,
You felt the fray come near,
I held onto my old heart,
Yet you were all I could hear,

The sweet sound of harmony,
The birds chirping in a nearby tree,
The soft sun gleaming in the sky,
But never once did I wonder why,

I saw the great from the worst,
I heard your sorrows bury deep down,
You were on the verge to burst,
But I kept that from becoming a sound,

The life I once knew fell,
It fell deep into the abyss,
I sought to find another,
But they all turned out to be a cyst.
