Lake Of Fire:

The summer's gaze slipped through the meadowy grass,

The sunlight spreading like a wildfire,

It etched across the green campus,

The darkness was hanging on by a wire,

The white haired minions surveyed the ground,

Camping alongside the paved road,

They sprouted for all to see,

But it was more than a garden node,

The path was clean,

It's direction unsure,

The road was smooth,

For it's intentions were pure,

The sand stuck between your toes,

The warmth smothering your ache,

So you kept your walk alive,

Hoping to arrive at the majestic lake.

  1. Such a beautiful notion
Its essence would make a calming potion
In a time when the world groans in pain
Blessed are the gracious thoughts that help to keep us sane.
