Orange Delight:

The breath stood fast,
Air breezing ever so slightly,
Burning desire filled the pink sky,
As I stood near still as could be,

The fire grew upon the orange horizon,
Heat was nowhere to be felt,
Yet the snow was forbidden,
For it had all but dealt,

I stared to the West Side,
The warmth oozing into my skin,
Coolness strayed from my body,
But the warmth stayed within,

The day passed unlike the others,
Unfulfilled yet more than I could muster,
I stood tall and steadfast,
Yet when the orange came I became flubber.
