As the man saw his life,
It flashing before his eyes,
Remembering the beginning,
And all of those daunting cries,
His past following his footsteps,
Beating on the ground behind him,
He called for silence and a dream,
Then he turned the lights to dim,
Hiding in his shell of a body,
Afraid of what he might become,
Knowing full aware of his limits,
His height and where he's from,
He stared long and hard,
Fighting those terrible pesky fears,
Awaiting the glorious finish line,
His long last love, and plenty of cheers.
