The wind sweeping the trees,
The sky bright as the day,
Cool as a Fall's warmth,
Yet my clouds were very grey,
I held my breath,
Wanting to use my lungs,
Again they had shut down,
Listening to those many tongues,
All I ever had wanted,
Was to be able to breathe,
But I couldn't hold onto,
My insides began to seethe,
I held your heart,
Yet you've never returned,
I was there from the beginning,
But your bridge has been burned,
My life was yours,
Now flowing with the free wind,
Alone with the tussling leaves,
Yet I opened and grinned,
I've never needed you,
The air I have is fine,
It's been with me longer,
And has seen my life shine.
